If you are offered a place in a student residence, you will be sent a rental contract as well as a bank withdrawal authorisation (SEPA Direct Debit Mandate for SEPA Core Direct Debit Scheme). You will have to pay the rent by direct debit starting from the date stated in the contract.
The rent comprises a basic amount as well as an utility charges allowance or an advance payment of utility charges. At the end of the accounting year, the landlord compiles an account of the utility charges for the student residence and of the advance payments made.
The deposit is to be paid together with the first rent by direct debit.
The rental contracts of the Studentenwerk are temporary contracts. These fixed-term rental contracts of the Studentenwerk can be terminated in writing with a two months' notice for the following deadlines:
31.03. or 30.09. for student residences in Bamberg and Würzburg
28./29.02. or 31.08. for student residences in Aschaffenburg and Schweinfurt
